Wimbledon welterweight boxing prospect Louis Adolphe believes his new trainer Ian Berbedge will guide him towards the right direction, writes Ziad Chaudry.
The 26-year-old advanced to 9-1 after a straight forward 60-54 six round points shut-out over an opponent in his 179th contest Lancashire's William Warburton on the undercard of Wandsworth-based Cyclone Promotions Channel 5 televised bill at York Hall, Bethnal Green, last Saturday.
The former Earlsfield ABC rep teamed up with respected Sutton-based Berbedge, who also trains former British champion Lenny Daws, in June and admits he is already reaping the rewards: "He's just doing brilliant stuff for me," he said. "What's he's done for me is priceless.
"He will lead me to titles and even further, definitely 100 percent. He's not just dealing with the physical side of things also the mental side of things. I've learnt to channel my I say sort of wild side and put it in the right direction and use the energy for a similar to what you've seen tonight."
Adelphi is looking towards getting an English or Southern area title shot but admits he will let Berbedge decide his best route.
"We are not going to run before we can walk," he added. "We're doing everything in our own plan. When Ian feels the times right we'll sit down, discuss and go from there. Hopefully I be in titles a lot sooner than expected.
"Everything's in house. Ian is with me everyday so he sees what I'm doing both right and wrong. What level I'm at, what opponents I can go for so who's the best person to have to be your manager and your trainer."
