Hercules Wimbledon Athletic Club’s talented young sprinter, Zipporah Golding showed further impressive form when she broke a pair of club sprint records.
The 12-year-old was racing in the second of this season’s Lily B Girls League meetings at Croydon Sports Arena on Saturday.
She broke her own club record in the U13s 100m clocking 13.00 seconds, and then repeated the feat in the 200m in 27.00secs.
Another winner in the U13 age group was Darcy O’Shea who took the high jump with a personal best of 1.35m.
Two other Hercules Wimbledon athletes to post personal bests were Rhianna Gale and Isabelle Ellis in winning their U17 300m and 800m races respectively.
Also showing good form on the track was Hercules Wimbledon’s Dwayne Cowan, who shaved 15 hundredths of a second off his lifetime best and club record when he won the British Athletics League Premier Division 400m in Manchester in 46.02secs.
His time ranks him fifth in the UK this summer and is just 0.32 seconds outside the qualifying time for this summer’s European Championships.
