First of all, thank you for highlighting the issue of the Crown pub, adjoining Civic Centre of Merton Council in Morden.
I am concerned Merton Council, which owns the freehold of the site had let the pub over close two years without taking any action with the leaseholders.
The loss of rental revenue and the business council tax would be substantial.
The property would be ideal for council offices.
How come no one within council thought of this in first place?
The original leasehold agreement is also in question as per your report. The flat planning permission should be out of the question.
In commercial terms this would not be allowed and the case would have been filed for the loss of revenue and decay of the property.
