The four-year-old girl was taken to hospital by parademics after being resuscitated by a lifeguard working at the David Lloyd Gym and Fitness Centre, in Bushey Road, at about 3.10pm yesterday.
She is believed to making a full recovery after she was found to be unresponsive in an outdoor swimming pool.
A witness said: “Yesterday afternoon there was an incident involving a young child who was found unconscious in the outdoor swimming pool at the above health club.
“Thankfully the lifeguard, who performed immediate CPR managed to get the child breathing again before paramedics arrived.”
The London Ambulance Service confirmed they sent two crews to the scene after reports that a young girl had been “taken unwell” and that paramedics later took her to St George’s Hospital.
A spokeswoman for the David Lloyd Leisure Centre said: “We can confirm that an incident occurred in the outdoor pool at David Lloyd Raynes Park on Monday 23 July at approximately 3.10pm.
“The club immediately implemented its emergency procedures.
“A four-year-old girl, in attendance with her parents, required CPR which was administered successfully by an on-duty lifeguard before she was taken to hospital by ambulance for further examination.
“We have personally contacted the family to enquire about her welfare and understand that she is making a full recovery, and would like to take this opportunity to wish her well.
“David Lloyd Leisure takes the health and safety of its members extremely seriously and the incident is being investigated by the club.”
