For the first time in their twenty year history, Merton Croquet Club has won something !!!
At Surbiton over the weekend, they won the Second Division of the Golf Croquet Southern Challenge against five other teams, beating Canterbury 6-0 in the final set of play-off matches. All games were level play.
Well done to the team, ably captained by Stephen Harbron, which comprised: Stephen, Carolyn Doswell, Peter Gunn, Gavin & Louise Taylor and Graham Witherington. Over the two days. the team won ten of their twelve matches.
The Club meets regularly at their lawn in the John Innes Park in Mostyn Road.
