Traffic was severely disrupted in Wimbledon at lunchtime after an ambulance crashed into a bollard.
No one was injured in the crash, which happened at the junction outside South Wimbledon underground station, at about 11.20am today.
A spokesman for Wimbledon fire station said they were called out to the incident but did not have to rescue the paramedics.
He said: "The ambulance was coming out of Kingston Road and was turning right towards Morden.
"We made the area safe and then handed it over to police."
The accident caused severe delays to traffic between Wimbledon and Morden.
Sarah Rigglesfield said on Twitter: "Took me half hour to get from the roundabout in morden to south Wimbledon!"
A London Ambulance spokesman said: "We can confirm that one of our first response cars was involved in a road traffic collision with a bollard.
"One of our duty managers attended the scene. The member of staff involved was not injured. The patient declined hospital treatment.
