It seems only a few days ago that I wrote to you telling you about what a good week we had - I think this means that I must be enjoying my role!

Of course I am and what is really encouraging is to see the effects of what we are trying to do paying off.

Burglary and Robbery are still reducing and we have the biggest drop in knife crime in London at the moment.

All this is good news but as you know "better never stops" and I am determined that we remain relentless in our efforts to drive down levels of crime and improve our service to victims.

We are still seeing burglars trick their way into the homes of the elderly. I have been sending the details of these out on a daily basis but please encourage everyone to look out for their neighbours and report any suspicious behaviour to us as soon as possible.

This week I have been out on patrol with Councillors in Graveney Ward and had some discussions about more public focused meetings and wider involvement of volunteers.

Our use of Twitter is progressing well and thank you to all those that regularly respond and/or re-tweet our messages, especially the crime prevention ones.

Some of you have heard me talk about our new plans to reduce crime and anti social behaviour.

Our plan to do this is called the Local Policing Model which focuses on Neighbourhood Policing to achieve this.

We are currently developing new structures that will emerge quickly after the Olympics and I will keep you informed as things develop.

Thank you for your help and support - amongst the highlights next week is the launch of our TKO scheme at Nuffield Health on Thursday between 4.30-6pm, police & public giving up their own time to invest in kids from across the borough.

Have a great weekend - speak to you all next week.

Darren
