A murder trial has collapsed in which an 18-year-old denied stabbin a Tamil father outside a Mitcham community centre.
Dwayne Roberts, from Mitcham Lane, Streatham, was accused of murdering 28-year-old Akilankumar Kanthasamy outside the New Horizon Centre, in South Lodge Avenue, Pollards Hill, in October 2011.
But his trial at the Old Bailey, which began on Tuesday, May 8 and was expected to last for three weeks, has now collapsed.
The case remains active and a new trial date may be fixed when legal counsel appears again on May 25.
Until then, Mr Roberts remains in custody.
