The British Muslim Association of Merton has elected a new chairman.
Mr Abdul Latif, a chartered engineer, has been appointed the groups’ new chairman following a unanimous vote at their annual AGM on Friday, April 20.
The AGM was chaired by the deputy mayor of Merton, Councillor Chris Edge, accompanied by Siobhain McDonagh, MP for Mitcham and Morden, and Merton Council leader Stephen Alambritis.
Mr Latif, who is also the chair of Willmore End Residents’ Association, replaces Mr Saleemullah Sheikh OBE.
