We have had yet another successful week on the Borough. My visit to the Buddhapadipa Temple last Sunday for the Thai New Year Celebrations was really well received and it was fantastic to spend some time with local people at this amazing event.

Operation Atlas continues across the borough to tackle burglary and robbery. To date there have been 13 arrests as a direct result of this focused initiative which has involved both local resources and others from across the Met.

A full update of success stories will be available in the near future.

Tim Witherspoon visited the borough on Wednesday and we spent some time together speaking with the the press and local people who had taken time out to come and see him.

This visit was to talk about the positive impact of sport as a diversionary scheme for young people. We also talked about the charity event he and I are doing on the 12th October.

Twitter continues to be a steep learning curve for us but at the last count @MPSMerton had 285 followers.

I truly believe that in time it will prove to be an invaluable tool for letting you know what we are doing and enabling you to be more involved with helping us to fight crime and keeping people safe.
