Sainsbury’s Tooting has presented its local Albemarle School Association with a Community Grant for £500.
This will help towards the cost of 15 key text high quality fiction books.
The Sainsbury’s Community Grant scheme, helping charitable groups in the local community, is funded by sales of ‘Bags for Life’. So for customers at Sainsbury’s Tooting buying a ‘Bag for Life’, this means that they are not only doing great things for the environment, but are also making a contribution to their local community. Sainsbury’s Tooting Store Manager, Yasmin Redman, said: “Our store is at the heart of the local community and it is important that we can do as much as we can to support it. When we heard about Albemarle School Association, we were really pleased to be able to help out.”
Last year alone the Community Grants scheme provided £135k worth of donations, nominated by store managers and colleagues from stores nation wide.
