I don’t know how long G. Rawlins (via email, June 23) has lived in the area, but I have lived here since 1940 and Dundonald Recreation Ground has always been known as the Rec.
All through my childhood and teenage years, up to the present day, it was called the Rec.
Maybe some people think the name ‘park’ sounds better, but we who live around it have never heard it referred to as Dundonald Park.
