Hall School Wimbledon pupil Thomas Eastaugh, together with his friends and fellow pupils, organised a cake sale at the Junior School on Thursday 9th June to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support and St Wilfrid’s Hospice in Chichester.
Thomas’ grandmother, who had cancer, sadly passed away in April 2010. During her illness, she was greatly supported by Macmillan Nurses and St Wilfrid’s Hospice. Keen to thank these organisations for their support, Thomas decided to organise a cake sale to raise money for them.
Staff, pupils and parents at HSW both provided and bought a mouth-watering selection of cakes, cookies and homemade chutney. At the end of the sale, Thomas proudly counted up more than £250 in takings.
Thomas is one of many HSW pupils who have used their own initiative to raise funds for charities close to their heart.
