Fun and games are coming back to Raynes Park this month after the success of last year’s inaugural community festival.

The MyRaynesPark Festival, a week long extravaganza of theatre, film and music, will be held at different locations in Raynes Park from June 24 to July 3 with an anticipated 1,400 residents expected to attend.

The festival’s organiser, Tom Underwood, said: "After the success of last year’s MyRaynesPark Festival we are proud to announce another healthy concoction of music, comedy, theatre, arts, sport, films, food and more.

“The festival features a programme of events where you will find something for everyone - from the very young to the more mature."

KIDS CLASSICS TEDDY AND HAT CONCERT
Bring the kids to this fast-moving, interactive, hilarious and surprising matinée performance. All audience members are encouraged to bring a teddy and wear a fabulous hat! Indiana Jones meets Tchaikovsky, Zorro hangs out with Mozart and Robin Hood goes shopping with Strauss!

THE SELFISH GIANT
The evening programme contains the added dimension of local actor, Tom Underwood, who will be performing Oscar Wilde’s “The Selfish Giant”, uniquely set to music by Gerard Le Feuvre and containing excerpts from Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons”. The hugely entertaining and thought-provoking programme also features Bach’s “Brandenburg Concerto No. 3” and Tchaikovsky’s velveteen “Andante Cantabile” for cello and strings.

ABOUT THE ORCHESTRA
Formed in 1985 by Gerard Le Feuvre, and ranging in size from 9 to 60 players, the Kings Chamber Orchestra is an outstanding professional orchestra, who perform in London and abroad. In the year 2000 Gerard Le Feuvre, the leader of the Kings Chamber Orchestra, was awarded the title of Associate from the Royal Academy of Music in honour of his “outstanding achievements in the music profession”. Known for their exceptional humour and spontaneity the Kings Chamber Orchestra’s appeal reaches far beyond the boundaries of classical music.

BROKE
Theatre company iceandfire have conducted more than 40 in-depth interviews with people living in poverty, bringing together the most compelling of these stories to create this dynamic play. As the gap between rich and poor grows ever wider, Broke explores the daily realities of living on little or no income in Britain today. After the performance, there will be a discussion with Kate Webb from the housing charity Shelter and other experts on the subject of homelessness and poverty in the UK.

ABOUT ICEANDFIRE
Iceandfire Theatre explores human rights stories through performance. Their outreach program Actors for Human Rights is a national network of over 500 professional actors and musicians dedicated to drawing public attention to a range of contemporary human rights concerns. The actors and musicians volunteer their time to perform rehearsed readings of verbatim and documentary plays and can perform anywhere anytime.
