The Klevis Kola Foundation, a community organisation supporting refugee and asylum-seeking families in South London, are proud to present a production of 'The Asylum Dialogues'. Held to coincide with Refugee Week from June 20th-26th, this poignant and thought-provoking piece from Sonja Linden is a celebration of friendship and solidarity between British people and asylum seekers.
Initially launched during Refugee Week in 2008, 'The Asylum Dialogues' has previously been presented as a reading, however this year's interpretation from illustrious director Juanita Mora promises to be nothing short of a truly emotional and engaging production.
Sourced from personal testimony fabulously interwoven with public opinion, political statements and statistical fact, the script truly strikes at the heart of what it means to be displaced in the UK. As actress Juliet Stevenson remarks, “Asylum Dialogues tells these inspirational stories and shows how small gestures of welcome can make a big difference.”
The Klevis Kola Foundation's production is a refreshingly honest reflection of the fear, uncertainty, and yet ultimate hope and bravery of those seeking sanctuary in the UK. A fantastic homage to Refugee Week, and a brilliant play not to be missed.
Held at Merton Abbey Mills, The Colour House Theatre. Thursday 23rd, Friday 24th and Saturday 25th of June. Tickets £7, Concession £5. Ring 020 8355 3410 for bookings.
