On 11.05.11 the Raynes Park Ward Panel met to discuss the Team’s activities and priorities during the last quarter.
The below is to provide you with an update of the teams work and statistics during this period.
Residential Burglary Priority: This type of offence has contributed to 4.6 % of the Wards crimes during the reporting period 21/01/2011 - 12/04/2011. The team has continued to conduct high visibility patrols across the ward identifying vulnerable premises under Operation Bumblebee and conducting free crime prevention visits to the wards residents.
The statistics show that between April 2010 - March 2011 the total number of residential burglaries on the ward was 41, averaging at 3 per month. Panel agreed to keep as a ward priority.
Non-Residential Burglaries: This type of offence also contributed to 4.6 % of the Wards crimes during the same period.
Statistics show that between April 2010 and March 2011 the total number of non residential burglaries i.e.: sheds garages and shops were 40, averaging at 3 per month. Panel agreed to keep as a priority.
The above burglary offences peaked in September 2010. The team will undertake numerous proactive initiatives throughout the new financial year paying close attention to September for obvious reasons. Theft from
Motor Vehicle Priority: This type of offence contributed to 4.6 % of the Wards crimes during the reporting period 21/01/2011 - 12/04/2011, with a total of 6 reported thefts.
This is a significant reduction from the previous quarter, where this type of crime contributed to 11.7 % of all recorded offences within the ward.
The team has been working in partnership with staff at three venues within the ward identified as hotspot areas for this type of crime.
The team has delivered training to car park and security staff and provided appropriate site surveys and suggestions on how to reduce the likelihood of their customers becoming victims of crime.
Since providing this training there has been no reported crimes at these venues. Statistics show that between April 2010 - March 2011, the total number of reported thefts from motor vehicles was 59 averaging at 5 per month. Panel agreed to keep as a ward priority.
