Haydon the Womble is demanding banners and flags in home and shop windows ahead of the biggest game in AFC Wimbledon’s history.
The club mascot will be travelling up to the City of Manchester Stadium with the fans for the Blue Square Bet Premier playoff final on May 21.
He said: “I’m hoping the whole community will get behind the team, from Morden to Wimbledon.”
When asked whether The Dons will win, Haydon said: “Yes! Of course!”
“I will be with the fans and there will be a lot of singing. Luton may outnumber us, but they will definitely not outsing us.”
Haydon said he and the fans will help relax the team’s nerves early on in the game.
“There is a part of AFC Wimbledon in all of us,” he said. “We will be going crazy if we win, the fans and the borough deserve it.”
