An award-winning rock band will perform a homecoming concert in aid of their local football team.
Mumford and Sons, a folk-rock group featuring former pupils of Kings College School (KCS), will play the benefit gig in aid of AFC Wimbledon on Monday night.
Tickets for the concert at the New Wimbledon Theatre will go on sale tomorrow (Wednesday) at 11am.
In a message on their website, the band said: “When a team that lies particularly close to the hearts of two members of the band - AFC Wimbledon - approached them to enquire if they'd play a show to raise funds for the club they were only too happy to oblige.”
Seats will cost £35 to £45, with special tickets available to club fans.
The band, which includes former KCS pupils Marcus Mumford and Ben Lovett, have topped album charts in America, Australia and Ireland and won the Brit award for best British album earlier this year.
AFC Wimbledon are poised to break into the football league, and play their first game of the Blue Square Premier promotion play-offs on Friday.
The club is also considering future expansion plans, and earlier this year fans said they were keen to see the team - which currently plays in Kingston - return to Merton.
