Two men were seriously injured by knife wounds in the early hours of this morning, emergency services have confirmed.
Police were called to reports of a double-stabbing inflicted at 1.20am less than 200m from each other on Merton High Street and Haydon's Road (opposite Quicks Road) in South Wimbledon.
The victim found on Haydon's Road was a 26-year-old man who was taken to hospital with serious wounding from a knife.
Both men are believed to be in a stable condition.
Night buses which travel through Merton High Street, such as the N57 and the N155, were put on diversion after Haydon's Road was closed between Merton High Street and Gilbert Road.
UPDATE: A police spokesman has said: "A male youth aged 17 and a male youth aged 15 have been bailed to return to a South London police station in mid-June. Enquiries continue."
Police could not confirm whether the two stabbings are linked but are pursuing it as a line of enquiry.
