Nearly 200 properties are without power in Wimbledon Village after an electricity substation lost power this morning, according to local businesses.
Traders in Wimbledon Village's High Street complained about the lack of power, which has affected businesses since 10am this morning.
Staff at The Butcher and Grill restaurant said they are still without power since 10.30am and were told an electricity substation had blown.
It was a similar story for Troy Squires at his marketing agency, which is also without power.
Mr Squires said: "First one side of the office lost power and the other side was going frantic with people shouting 'Save your computer work!'
"Shortly after the whole office's power went down. Fortunately we're next to Wimbledon Common and it's a nice day.
"Some of us are just having a Spring clean before the Easter break."
But the nearby pub, the Dog and Fox, was one of many businesses who said their electricty was lost for only about 20 minutes.
A spokeswoman for London's electricity provider, UK Power Networks, said: "Engineers from UK Power Networks are working to restore power supplies to about 184 customers in the Wimbledon area.
"Power was interrupted at 9.52am today following a fault on the electricity network.
"We would like to reassure customers that we are working as quickly and as safely as possible to restore supplies and apologise to those affected by this incident.
