On the 31st March 2011, something wonderful took place at St. Mark's Church of England Academy, when the Year 7 children put on a show for their families and friends.
The show was an African folk tale "The Story of Tufani" and was a masterpiece of hard work and dedication involving the whole of Year 7 and their teachers. Each child decided which aspect of the producation they would like to be involved in - Drama, Dance, Art or Music - and then worked their socks off to bring it all together in the weeks leading up to the big night.
The result was a spectacular, colourful and atmospheric feast reaching the audience's eyes, ears and hearts. The costumes were magnificent, the music was simply divine and the acting and singing were a joy to behold.
Whether up on stage or behind the scenes, every child who contributed to the success of this production deserves congratulations and has every reason to feel proud of their achievement. A great night for St. Mark's!
