A furious mum has criticised a housing association for not fixing a series of leaks at her home.
Kyra-Stacey Fisher said she had suffered an “horrific” two years in the crumbling property, with eight leaks at the home in the last six months alone.
She has attacked housing association L&Q for not doing more to patch up the home in Mitcham she shares with her 14-year-old son Daniel.
The former Westminster police officer was signed off sick with stress four months ago and was told she needed to rest before returning to work – but the 30-year-old claims the sub-standard condition of her Acacia Road home is blocking her recovery, and a series of visits from workmen had not tackled the issues.
She said: “I’ve had leak after leak after leak.”
Ms Fisher also claimed her street was crawling with rats, which she could not keep out of the property, and asked for more assistance from the housing association to deal with the problem.
An L&Q spokesman said: “There have unfortunately been several occasions when our contractors have been unable to gain access to the property or contact Ms Fisher, which has delayed the repairs process.
“L&Q is committed to providing decent and safe homes for all our residents, and our intention remains to carry out the necessary works to Ms Fisher’s property to ensure her home meets our standards.”
