The long-awaited committee to look after the interests of West Barnes Library has been named after last night's meeting.
The meeting, which was attended by 25 people, was a follow-up to an initial gathering on March 22, where there was apparently a lot of disagreement about whether elected councillors should sit on the committee.
The following positions were elected:
- Chair: John Nicholson;
- Vice-chair: Rachel Taylor;
- Secretary: Bob Forsberg;
- Publicity officer: Bob Forsberg;
- Treasurer: Penny Price.
But the committee is still looking for people to fill the following positions:
- Volunteer coordinator;
- Membership secretary;
- Social and Fundraising officer.
The next meeting will be at the library on Monday, April 11, at 7pm.
The Friends have also set up a new website: fowbl.blogspot.com.
