Police were called after it was reported that a body was seen being put into a car boot by two males in Mitcham.
On Sunday, April 16 at 12.30am, police were called to Clay Avenue.
A crime scene was put in place and following an extensive investigation, the item being place in the boot has been identified as a bag and not a body.
No arrests were made.
A spokesperson for the Met Police said: “On Sunday 16th April 2023, at 0029hrs police were called to Clay Avenue, Mitcham CR4 to reports of two males placing a body into the boot of a vehicle.
“A crime scene was put in place and following an extensive investigation the item being placed in to the boot has been identified as a bag, not a body.
“No arrests were made.”
