Every young person in life deserves the opportunity to a wonderful education, and at Halliford School, this remains the thinking as they continue to encourage and support them to be the best possible version of themselves that they can be, through high-quality teaching, excellent facilities, extra-curricular opportunities and outstanding pastoral care.
Located in the beautiful urban village of Shepperton in Surrey, the selective boys independent day school which also admits girls into its sixth form, has built up quite the outstanding reputation and gained a whole array of admirers in the local community.
We sat down with Headmaster Mr James Davies, a keen musician and specialist in pastoral care, who in his sixth year in the role, spoke with immense pride on how the school which is based on strong family values and academic ambition, continues to prosper.
“Being a slightly smaller school than some of the others in southwest London, our reputation is that we know our students on a personal level extremely well including their families, which allows us to personalise what we do for every one of them. Having experienced staff who have been here for several years, they know the families too and the result of that is a community feel being created, which is important for parents with their children being able to thrive and showcase who they are as individuals.
I’m extremely proud to play a significant part in young people’s futures which I take very seriously, where we have just developed a new strapline to represent the school of ‘Come as you are. Go as all you can be’, and in a sense that is the essence of my job to take boys into Halliford as they are and to be able to provide them with brand-new skills, opportunities, positive challenges, resilience, ambition, moments for them to shine without that fear of failure and to become a better version of themselves for their future, along with the girls in our sixth form”.
He added, “in a busy society, one of our key foundations is showing a good level of respect which teaches young men to become a well-rounded and warm-hearted individual which will clinch openings in later life. The facilities are fantastic, the staff are extremely caring and I would encourage any parent to come along to the school to get a feel of what we are all about and for them to find out if the positive environment we have created at Halliford is the right one for their son or daughter”.
So, if you are looking for the perfect educational institution to enrol your child into, then look no further than Halliford School.
They warmly invite you to come and visit in person at one of their open days or to book an individual tour to really get a feel of its distinctive culture and ethos.
