Police are looking to speak to a man after a series of fires which are believed to have been caused deliberately.
Officers and fire crews were called multiple times on June 26 at around 12.30pm to a fire in a field off Woodmansterne Road at the junction with Lacrosse Way.
The fire damaged a number of properties and some homes were evacuated as a precaution.
This incident has been linked to a fire at the same location on July 19.
There were no serious injuries and there have been no arrests made.
Police also received reports of a man with a knife seen acting suspiciously in the area.
Officers have now released pictures of a man they want to speak to.
Anyone who has information that could help police should call 101 ref CAD 3210/26 Jun.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "Detectives are releasing images of a man they want to speak to following a series of fires in Merton.
"Police and London Fire Brigade received multiple calls to a fire in a field off Woodmansterne Road at the junction with Lacrosse Way at around 12:30hrs on 26 June.
"The fire was extinguished, and caused some damage to a number of properties.
"Some houses were evacuated as a precaution.
"The incident has been linked to a subsequent fire at the same location on 19 July.
"There were no reports of any serious injuries.
"There have been no arrests at this time.
"The fires are believed to have been caused deliberately.
"Police had also received reports of a man with a knife seen acting suspiciously in the area.
"Images of a man police want to speak to have been issued.
"Anyone who has information that could help police should call 101 ref CAD 3210/26 Jun.
