A traditional Hawaiian poké restaurant has just opened in Wimbledon, bringing a taste of Island life to south west London.
Island Poké’s new site opened on Friday (August 12) at 8 The Broadway in Wimbledon - following a ‘Poké party’ the night before.
Rooted in the traditional Hawaiian cuisine which typically features fresh fish and vegetables on a bed of sushi rice, Island Poké uses sustainable and high-quality ingredients that deliver on both flavour and feel-good factor.
Made fresh to order every time, there are poké bowl options ranging from the Classic Ahi Tuna to the Yuzu Lomi Lomi salmon, as well as vegetarian, vegan and chicken options.
Customers can also ‘build your own’ bowl, allowing you to choose from a large selection of poké combinations to create your dream and bespoke poké bowl.
The new Island will also feature their brand new Poké Bao, a light and fluffy bao bun perfectly steamed to complement the delicious ingredients, giving customers a fresh, tasty, and handheld way to eat their poké.
Wimbledon residents can keep an eye out for the brand’s infamous £1 poké bowl day which is coming to the new Island on Saturday, September 3.
Island Poké founder James Gould-Porter said: “We are so glad to be opening our doors in Wimbledon and bringing our Fresh Pacific Flavours to the area.
“It’s our mission to bring people a great and fresh alternative to the traditional lunch and dine-out offering and we think that the residents of Wimbledon are going to love it.”
