Police are investigating a report of sexual harassment after a teenager was followed by a man on a bike in Morden Hall Park on the weekend.
The 17-year-old was walking in the park when she was allegedly approached by a man who tried to grab her shortly before 9pm on Saturday (July 10).
A person believed to be a family member of the victim, described the incident online.
It read: "A man in his late 30s early 40s, on a push bike in a white T-shirt and Tan tartan (Burberry style) shorts, approached her and whispered in her ear "nice arse".
"She is only 17 and this scared her so she ignored him and sped up.
"He continued to follow her and speed up to keep up with her and attempted to grab her.
“(At) this point, she started running towards the gate opposite Morden Hall Medical Centre.
"He again sped up at which point she called out her brother’s name as he had walked on ahead. Once she got to the gate and he heard her calling out for someone - he quickly turned around and sped off in the opposite direction.
"I just wanted to make people aware so you can be extra vigilant when in this area.
"Ladies please be careful, if she wasn't so close to the exit where others were this could potentially have been much worse! She (is) ok now just shaken."
Wimbledon Times contacted Met Police for comment, in response a spokesperson said: "Police received an online report of an allegation of an attempted sexual assault that occurred in Morden Hall Park, Morden.
"A 17-year-old female reported that a male on a bicycle made a sexually motivated comment to her and attempted to grab her.
"He then cycled off.
