A dispersal order has been issued in the area of Wimbledon Common following an incident on Thursday evening.
Merton Police said on Twitter that a dispersal order has been issued to prevent the public from being 'harassed' in Wimbledon.
The tweet, shared at 9.34pm on Thursday, said: "Due to crime and disorder in the locality, a dispersal order is in place under section 35 of Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.
"The dispersal relates to the area of Wimbledon Common in its entirety.
"The Section 35 Dispersal has been put in place to prevent public in the locality from being harassed, alarmed or distressed due to an incident reported to us earlier."
The order was issued from 8.40 pm on April 15 until 8.40 pm on April 17.
Police have been contacted for comment.
