Students and staff at Ricards Lodge school in Wimbledon have been doing their part to support communities during the coronavirus outbreak.
Each day, students and staff have taken part in a community act- aimed at supporting the vulnerable and key workers across Merton and surrounding boroughs.
So far, the school have taken part in five acts aimed to help hospital staff and those in need, these acts consist of:
• Goody bags of sweets with notes of kindness taken to Royal Marsden
• Goody bags of donations from Centre Court shops with notes of kindness taken to St Helier
• Over 260 pairs of science lab goggles donated to St Helier and plans to take some to St Georges next week
• Food Bank collections donated to Age UK and Wimbledon Food Bank
• Fresh fruit donated by Centre Court shops taken to Arthur Road care home
Ricards Lodge Headteacher, Mrs Jerrard, said: “It is so important at this time of national emergency that the school and it’s students can show just how much our critical workers mean to us all.
"Connecting with and helping others also supports our own well-being.
"I am more proud than I have even been of our students, our staff and their families, and to be their Headteacher”.
The school are set to continue raising smiles across boroughs over the coming weeks.
