A elderly man has been taken to hospital after crashing into the wall of a park in Colliers Wood.
It is believed that the driver, who crashed into the wall of Wandle Park, just off Colliers Wood High Street, became confused between the brake and accelerator in his car.
A spokesman for the fire brigade said the elderly driver, who they thought was in his seventies, appeared to have mixed up the pedals and sent his car through the wall.
He added that although the car was in a bad way, the driver did not appear to be seriously hurt.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that two cars were involved in the accident at 2.15pm this afternoon, and one collided with a wall.
A spokesman confirmed that one driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital.
Three fire engines, ambulance crews and the police were all there this afternoon, with drivers experiencing slow traffic in the area.
