With reference to an article in Your Say, (We need a GP service, June 4) from Councillor Jeff Hanna about GP practice opening hours from 8.00am to 8.00am, I am sure he is aware that his own party made life for GPs very easy during Labour’s time in administration; shortening working hours and increasing pay.
With the current majority run Conservative Government; in their manifesto they promised to have the GP surgeries open as requested by Coun Hanna. I hope he will be patient to see this implemented soon. It would also be beneficial to see Wilson Hospital being developed similar to Nelson Hospital, but to provide services to the needs of the residents of the East of the borough.
