I was so pleased to be present at the recent official opening by the Mayor of the new ‘Ageing Well café’. Staff and volunteers at the Wimbledon Guild are to be congratulated.
The brand new facility in Worple Road looked very fresh and bright and satisfaction levels among users seemed high.
The older people I met had already started attending the café and were clearly pleased with the new arrangements.
A number of them commented on the wide variation in menus and the fact they can have a meal of their choice at a time of their choice.
I was also impressed to see all the different monthly activities up on the wall.
It is understandable that there may have been concerns about some of the changes proposed by the Guild but now this new cafe is up and running, I hope everyone will support it.
Councillor Margaret Brierly, Merton Council (Conservative, Raynes Park ward)
