Surely the ethical thing for Richard Hilton and Suzanne Evans would be for them to resign from the Conservative party and stand down to fight again as UKIP councillors.
It strikes me as profoundly cycnical and undemocratic to simply leap from one party to another with scant regard for voters and the residents they supposedly represent.
I, for one, completely reject the politics of UKIP. While they are right to point out how far removed the mainstream parties are from the concerns of ordinary people, UKIP’s attempts to blame immigration for all our woes are wrong.
It is not immigrants that wrecked out economy or are forcing through savage cuts.
