A teenager is in hospital after she was hit by a car in Mitcham.

The 16-year-old was struck on London Road near the junction of Cricket Green at about 7.15am.

London Ambualnce Service sent two crews who treated the girl at the scene before taking her to St George's Hospital with what is believed to be minor injuries.

Police are also at the scene and Transport for London is warning bus routes 118, 127, 200, 201 and 280 are being diverted in both directions.
