Sainsbury’s Wimbledon has presented its local 19th Wimbledon Scout Group with a Community Grant for £500.
This will help to support towards the rebuilding the scout hall.
The Sainsbury’s Community Grant scheme, helping charitable groups in the local community, is funded by sales of ‘Bags for Life’.
So for customers at Sainsbury’s Wimbledon buying a ‘Bag for Life’, this means that they are not only doing great things for the environment, but are also making a contribution to their local community. Sainsbury’s Wimbledon Store Manager, Denis Young, said: “Our store is at the heart of the local community and it is important that we can do as much as we can to support it. When we heard about 19th Wimbledon Scout Group, we were really pleased to be able to help out.”
Last year alone the Community Grants scheme provided £135k worth of donations, nominated by store managers and colleagues from stores nation wide.
