A tea bar at St Helier Hospital faces closing two days a week unless volunteers come forward.
The League of Friends of St Helier and Sutton Hospitals is a charity which supports a number of vital services at the hospitals.
However, due to a shortage of volunteers they may have to close their popular tea bar, based in Ferguson House, for two days a week.
Val Brundle, chair of the league: "Volunteers are the lifeblood of any charitable organisation, and we are in urgent need of a few more helping hands.
"We have been running the tea bar for many, many years and we are in desperate need for help in keeping this vital service open.
"It is open every weekday but we face closing it for two days because we are running short on volunteers."
The League of Friends raised £250,000 last year and the tea bar played an important part in helping to reach that target.
Over the past sixty years they have raised more than £5 million to help pay for essential hospital equipment.
