A popular pensioner died of shock caused by blood loss after being bitten by her daughter’s dogs, tests have revealed.

Gloria Knowles, 71, was found dead in her daughter’s back garden in Rutland Drive, Morden, on the evening of Tuesday, October 30.

Metropolitan police said this morning there have been no arrests made and enquiries are continuing into how the incident happened.

On Friday, a post-mortem examination said Ms Knowles died from shock caused by blood haemorrhage as a result of the attack.

It is understood the dogs would not be destroyed as they are not a banned breed.

Ms Knowles’ daughter, Beverley Mason, kept five dogs at her home, including two Bordeaux French mastiffs, which were seized on Tuesday.

Ms Mason is the owner of the Harrington Pie and Mash shop in Tooting, which was founded by her grandfather and continued by Gloria Knowles and her late husband, Victor.

She lived next door to her mother and it is thought Mrs Knowles had entered the back garden to feed the dogs, when she was set upon.
