Leatherhead boss Ian Hazel has promised Tanners fans a season to remember at Fetcham Grove.
With their pre-season schedule now well under way, Hazel has revealed it is a desire to banish the memory of last season's disappointments that is driving his squad forward.
And the Tanners manager has told fans to get ready for the Ryman South good times.
Hazel said: "We want to give something back to the supporters after a dreadful season last year.
"We definitely believe that we will have a better season than last time round.
"It will not be easy as there are some big budgets and a lot of money flying around but we certainly have a chance."
Hazel is advocating an attacking brand of football for the coming season, and hopes the influx of talent like midfielder Harry Smart from QPR is a sign of things to come.
But the Leatherhead boss admits it will take time.
He added: "We will try to get the ball down and pass it.
"And I definitely want us to get the ball in wide areas and have a go at teams.
"I think that is the right way to play.
"But as well as being the right way it also has to be the winning way."
The Tanners will visit Bookham on Saturday before a home friendly with Wealdstone next Tuesday.
And Hazel insisted there is nothing like getting on the pitch to gauge progress.
He added: "You can train all day long but it is only through games that players get match fitness.
"Players need time on the pitch.
"At the moment I am pretty happy with the fitness levels and where we are at but there is still a long way to go."
