Crystal Palace are preparing a player-plus-cash offer for– Brentford attacker Ollie Watkins.
The Bees forwards has attracted interest from a host of Premiership clubs but it seems Palace look set to be first to show their hand.
Former Exeter star Watkins moved to Griffin Park in 2017 for £1.6million and has scored 20 goals in 86 league appearances.
Palace are thought to be looking to offer cash plus striker Alexander Sorloth.
The Dane has struggled to settle at Selhurst Park since his £9million move and was loaned out to Genk for the second half of last season.
Speculation grew that Sorloth would be departing SE25 after the 23-year-old was left out of the Eagles pre-season friendly at AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday.
Tottenham and Arsenal were rumoured to be mulling over a raid on the West London outfit in January, with Southampton, Aston Villa and Bournemouth most recently linked, but Roy Hodgson now looks set to swoop.
With Wilfried Zaha's future up in the air amid bids from Arsenal and Everton, Watkins could fill the void should the Ivorian depart.
