Believing the old adage that cheese makes everything better, I experienced first-hand the joy of opening a cheese with my own face printed on it - a thrill that was both laughable and a touch narcissistic.

Staring back at me from the cheese was a laser-printed image of myself, a strange sight that was oddly satisfying.

I shared my unique fromage with every group chat I was part of, and it elicited a fair share of chuckles and "brie-musement".

As a huge cheese fan, I could see how this could be an ideal gift, and I wasn't alone as I found others already considering it as a quirky present idea for birthdays, Christmas stockings or as a novelty centrepiece after popping the pictures in a group chat.

Entrepreneur Edward Hancock, who achieved fame as a Dragon’s Den winner and founder of artisanal cheese brand, cheesegeek, launched the 'Say Cheese' idea.

The company is based in Raynes Park south London and is the first in the world to make these personalised cheeses with images on them.

Having fun with its appearance aside, the most important question comes to mind - How does the cheese taste?

Well, it was delicious – especially hot.

Myself and my partner paired it with a nice baguette - a fitting companion - and consumed the entirety of it in one sitting while watching TV.

The warm, melted 'me' cheese tasted even better than it looked although watching my own face melt away was somewhat sad.

The standard of the cheese is top-notch - brilliantly tasty and impressively smooth.

You can put just about anything on the cheese though – you just scroll through your photo album, pick out a picture of your pet, a loved one, a slogan, football team logo or even a selfie, and upload it.

Your chosen image will then be printed onto a mini Waterloo cheese - a brie style offering made from Guernsey cow's milk, known for its famously rich, light, and creamy taste.

The personalised cheese costs £15 for 180g, serving two people.

Cheesegeek prepares all orders on the day of dispatch and the cheese arrived in a beautiful package - a large box with an ice pack inside to maintain freshness.

The delivery typically takes 1-2 working days (Tuesday - Saturday).

It felt like a significant, luxurious gift perfect for any cheese fan - 'Say Cheese' is a brilliant bit of novelty fun combined with a quality dairy product.
