Part of Church Road in Wimbledon was closed because this tree was blocking the road.
A video of a silver 4x4 shows the vehicle stuck under the branches of the tree as pedestrians on their way to the tennis walk by.
Police officers from Merton tweeted the news this afternoon to warn drivers and pedestrians to avoid the area while it was made safe.
Workmen were working to clear the road as soon as possible.
